AJ’s Big Mac Classic

The AJ's Big Mack Classic Fishing Tournament will be held September 17-19 in Destin, Florida. The tournament will feature all King Mackerel. There will be cash prizes for three of the largest fish, two aggregate awards for one fish, and a Big Mac overall winner. There are three divisions. Each division will award cash prizes for largest fish. All fish must be weighed in for the tournament to be eligible for the cash awards.

The event is expected to attract over 30,000 anglers this year. This year, prizes are more generous than ever. Extra divisions and changes in the rules have made the tournament better than ever. The King Mackerel Award Division will award $100 to the captain of the boat that captures the most king mackerel in a single day. This pot increases throughout the tournament. At the end of each tournament, the angler that caught the biggest king mackerel on a single day will receive 25% of the prize cash. The remainder will go to local charities.

Fishing for Miracles

After a quarter century of hosting the King Mackerel Tournament in Charleston, South Carolina, fishing enthusiasts are ready to do it again. Two charities will benefit from this year's event: Coastal Conservation Association of South Carolina (PICU) and MUSC Children's Hospital's PICU. Over 600,000 dollars have been donated to worthy beneficiaries by the organization. The tournament will also host other charitable events.

Swansboro Five O

Swansboro Rotary Club Five-O King Mackerel Fishes Tournament gives you the opportunity to win prizes, and get recognized for all your hard work. The tournament was held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, and featured a weekend of solid fishing. This tournament is sponsored by local merchants and raises funds for Take a Kid Fishing and Project Christmas Cheer. Participants can compete to win one or more of 50 prizes or five cash prizes.

The Swansboro Rotary Club King Mackerel Blue Water Tournament has become one of the club's most important fundraising events. In the early years of the tournament, the purse was less than $10,000 and had fewer than 100 participants. Lee Moore was appointed master of ceremonies and the prize purse surpassed $100,000 by 1988. This tournament attracted more fishermen and was also the first to be included on the Southern Kingfish Association circuit.

Registration for the tournament is open from Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. to midnight. You can buy TWTs online and at the door up until midnight on Oct. 20. The tournament registration is open from midnight on Thursday prior to the tournament. Thursday, Oct. 22nd and Friday Oct. 23rd are the fishing days. Be sure to go to the weigh-in where social distagging will be required.

The Carolina Kingfish Classic 3rd Annual at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina is an all-day fishing festival featuring live entertainment, auctions and southern hospitality. Motor boats only are permitted to take king mackerel. The tournament will feature live music at the beach, and an after-party with live bidding. Windwood Farm Home for Children is the beneficiary of The Carolina Kingfish Classic.

Participants may take part by launching their boat at any port they prefer and fishing for the tournament on any of the three days. Brien Bethards and his crew chose deep fishing on Friday. They left Charleston Harbor on Friday and arrived at the designated spot on Saturday, where they immediately hooked up with some giant king mackerel. They landed two fish that weighed more than 100 pounds in just over an hour.

Fishing For Miracles, which was established in 1994, raised more than $1,000,000 for children's charities. Muckenfuss and Dennis Lee, a businessman and offshore fisherman, were co-founders of the event. In its peak year, the tournament attracted 288 boats. It has since declined, but in 2018, 118 boat teams participated. Participants can bring their children with them.
